Aikido Shinju-kai conducted the 2nd Youth Meet on 16th October 2009. Hosted by Republic Polytechnic in their spacious sports hall, this year’s Youth Meet included students from Anglo-Chinese School (Independent), National Junior College, Republic Polytechnic, and Singapore Management University, as well as youth from various Aikido Shinju-kai dojos.
The Youth Meet kicked off with lively demonstrations from the school clubs. SMU students showcased their unarmed techniques, while ACSI students provided an energetic showcase of weapon katas and multiple attacks. Republic Polytechnic wowed the judges with an impressively varied demonstration, and National Junior College entertained the audience with a unique demo of their aikido skills in the form of a video game skit. In the end, it was Republic Polytechnic, with their well-coordinated demonstration, who took emerged champions; for a second consecutive year!
The demonstrations were followed by a seminar by Philip Lee Sensei.
