Location/ How to Get There
The dojo is about 100 metres from the bus terminal and train station (Toa Payoh MRT station) where one can catch a bus or train to any part of Singapore. The convenience of good transportation and facilities means that visitors (local and overseas) can get everything at Toa Payoh.
Bus services passing by SAFRA Toa Payoh include bus numbers 8, 26, 31, 90, 142, 232, 237 and 238. You can also take the MRT to Toa Payoh and board the above mentioned buses at the bus interchange.
Brief Description
Toa Payoh Dojo was established in January 1999 and in some ways, is like a little home-grown dojo. The dojo first started out with one children's class but attendance swelled to such huge numbers (about 80 at last count) that the class had to be split into two sessions. The children from the children's classes usually stay on to "graduate" into the adult classes when they turn twelve.
The adult class consists of a good stronghold of diehard students who attend most regularly, helping out where necessary. The current strength stands at 20 practitioners.
Facilities
Training sessions are held in the nice mirrored air-conditioned aerobics studio located at the mega gym. There are showers as well as jacuzzis and suanas exclusively for the use of members. This being a club, there are many other facilities such as a swimming pool, tennis courts, badminton courts and even rockclimbing facilities.
