Brief Description
The Japanese Association
dojo started off as (and still is predominantly) an Aikido class for children.
Open only to members of the Japanese Association, the dojo has also seen
an increasing number of adult participants, mainly the parents of the participating
children. Members number up to about 25 students for the first session and
about 40 for the second.
The majority of the members
in this dojo are an over-energized bunch of little guys and girls. Training
is fun and rather playful, but can sometimes be tiring for the instructor
and helping senior members. However, the students are learning to be more
and more disciplined as time goes by and everyone can now train more seriously
without cutting down on the fun.
Facilities
The Japanese Association has a new and very well-equipped building, which
provides an air-conditioned training room, as well as a comfortable changing
and shower room. It is very convenient for most Japanese parents because
they can also come to the association for different kinds of other activities
and facilities provided.
