Cheng San CC dojo was Shinju-kai’s first dojo being opened in a Community Club in the 90’s. It has indeed brought back lots of memories in those years when it was our HQ. Every Wednesday evening you can find more than 60 students training at the CC’s multi-purpose hall & most of us would chilled out together with Sensei after the class having supper & drinks.
As Shinju-kai has grown through the years now with over 5,000 members & having our permanent HQ we can hardly have that chance of chilling out with Sensei like those days as many students would love to do that but unfortunately it is not possible to do now it as we have over 40 dojos island wide with classes running daily especially in the evenings.
Time flies since those years at Cheng San & looking back I can see that Sensei has churned out Shinju-kai’s present senior instructors strictly following the traditional culture of Aikido which I felt that most students today find it difficult to accept. Guess time has changed people’s mind set these days……
