GRADING MATTERS

GENERAL INFORMATION ON GRADING

All Gradings at Aikido Shinju-kai are conducted by an authorised grading panel led by Chief Examiner Philip Lee Sensei (6th Dan).

-

All grades are registered with Aikido Shinju-kai. All Yudanshas (black belt dan grades) are registered with Aikido World Headquarters (Aikikai Foundation, Tokyo, Japan) & International Aikido Federation (IAF).

The following syllabus are the latest revision. Please read the "NOTES" attached to the end
of the syllabus before you submit for grading. Best of luck!

Grading Panel

Applicants must ensure you have fulfilled all pre-requisites at the time of Grading submission.

Applications must be accompanied with

1. Proof of training sessions & time period
2. Membership book (with current year membership paid)
3. Grading fees
4. Grading form (for Children Grading only, to be signed by parent)

For late submission after the dateline, there will be additional administration charge of $20.

Please refer to the homepage for the final reporting time on dates indicated.

* ....Intermediate grades may be awarded by the Grading Panel upon their assessment.

*** Junior Dan is open for teenagers age 14 and below only.
.....Junior dan holders can wear a blue Hakama.

1st Dan (Shodan) *

With international certification from
Aikido World Headquarters, Japan.

2nd Dan (Nidan)

* ..Minimum age is 15 years old to be eligible for 1st Dan Grading.
....Men can wear a black Hakama upon obtaining 1st Dan.

** Minimum age is 26 years old to be eligible for 4th Dan Grading.
